Back in 2012, the Canadian International School in Singapore opened their "David Foster Theatre". David Foster is a 46-Grammy nominee and 16 time award winning artist whom has worked with many of my inspirations such as Chaka Khan, Christina Aguilera, Madonna etc. I was asked to perform together with this legend on this unforgettable night where we sang the piece Through the Fire by Chaka Khan, but originally written by David Foster himself.
I'm so grateful and beyond excited to announce that I have received a $20,000 yearly scholarship to attend the full-time 4-year-college program ($80,000 scholarship) to the best music school in the world. This is a huge accomplishment since the competition and expectations were so high this year, yet no other vocalist received a higher scholarship than this which blows my mind. These past 5 weeks I have never worked this hard and learned this much, and this whole experience has been unforgettable. The people I've met and performances I've done have taught me so much and I have never accomplished this much over this short amount of time. From Tower of Power to Singer Showcase and Singer Songwriting Showcase to this. I am happy to say that I'm proud of myself and I couldn't have worked any harder. I want to thank my family and supportive friends from the bottom of my heart and I wouldn't be in this position without them.

Performing together with the 16-Grammy Award Winning David Foster
Met Sting at his concert live in Madison Square Garden
I was able to accomplish various achievements over the course of Berklee’s 5-Week Summer Program. I auditioned for the Singer Showcase, which is a performance displaying Berklee’s  'top ten vocalists’. Out of hundreds of vocalists that auditioned, only 20 vocalists got a call back audition. I was already honoured to even get this call back, but out of these 20 vocalists I was in the top chosen 10, along side one of my amazing friends, Ella-Jane Sharpe.  Another achievement was how I was placed in Berklee’s top ensemble, Tower of Power. “This 17-piece ensemble performs funk and r&b music of Tower of Poer. It’s one of Berklee’s most prestigious ensembles, composed of the school’s finest students.” (Berklee.com) I was so honoured to have been apart of this ensemble where we had our own Cafeteria Show and played in the Berklee Performance Centre. The last big accomplishment was how I auditioned for the Singer-Songwriting showcase, where more than 250 songwriters auditioned and there we’re 30 songwriters that got to play over the course of 4 concerts throughout the week and I was selected to play in Berklee’s Cafe 939. This was my second year being selected for this showcase and both performances can be found under the “Videos” heading.

Noa Angell Boon is a 17-year old Eurasian Dutch-Indonesian singer-songwriter.  Due to her whole family being very musical she was already surrounded by music her whole life. Her father being a bass player, and one of her biggest influences has helped her push and strive to work harder to play together with him. Noa is an artist who doesn’t just stick to one genre but is able to vary and go through many different ones. Most of her music is R&B Soul/Jazz based with a lot of modern day popular influene.  She likes to write her compositions on either guitar or piano, and usually accompanies herself on both instruments. These have been completely self-taught with the help of her multi-instrumentalistic father.  Noa will be studying at Berklee College of Music in fall of 2017 and is thrilled to announce that she received a partial scholarship to study at this music school.
