Hi, my name is Egmond Boon, and I am a husband, father of four, a passionate global educator, musician, photographer and cinematographer who loves to travel, explore and create.
I am an Apple Distinguished Educator and Certified Apple Foundations Trainer, Google Certified Innovator and Google Certified Trainer, Certified Microsoft Innovative Educator and Certified Microsoft Innovative Educator Trainer, Common Sense Certified Educator and Ambassador, Certified Hapara Champion Educator and Lego Education Certified Trainer with 22 years of working experience in various international environments.
When starting my second career in 2006, I designed, directed and integrated an Apple/Windows cross-platform learning environment successfully. In my current role, I developed and supervised the implementation of MakerSpaces, MultiMedia rooms and a Recording Studio related to a STEAM approach, a 1-to-1 learning programme with iPads, MacBooks and Chromebooks, ePortfolio’s, classroom websites, game-based learning, open source and Web 2.0 tools such as G Suite, Office 365, WordPress, Blogger, Schoolbox, Edmodo, Moodle, Joomla, Wiki server, Vodcast and Podcast station.
My fields of experience include the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), Diploma Programme (DP), the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and Dutch national curriculum with advanced skills in management. I developed a deep understanding of Kagan’s cooperative learning structures, Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences, Marzano’s effective teaching and learning strategies
and Lynn Erickson’s concept-based learning programme.
Throughout the years in international education, I developed an expertise in the integration of Digital Literacy and STEAM, robotics and technology into schools, classrooms and curricula. I effectively coach and train students, faculty members and parents with a clear focus on the teaching and learning processes and the development of key skills amongst all learners.
I am a multi-instrumentalist, webmaster, digital storyteller, photographer, cinematographer, drone pilot, 3D and clay animator, gamer, and beginner programmer – HTML5, CSS3, Python, Java.
